Balmain, Vanessa Bruno, Givenchy, Roland Mouret - its all here...

I popped my head into the Myer Sydney international designer pre sell for SS 2012 (southern hemisphere 2012/2013) yesterday.

Here is the invitation, together with the names of the showcased designers and the contact details:

The goodies on display will be open for public view and sale after 10 June. Until then, the viewing and sales occur by appointment only.

Whilst I did not take any photos when I was there, I did subsequently track down some of the items for your view

In some cases I have shown similar (not identical) items (& I have indicated where this is the case) & prices are my estimates in some cases (my brain can only hold so much...hehehe).

Interestingly, it appears that all of the pieces were from the designers resort collections - not from the main spring/summer lines. I think this is because resort is available earlier and is a bit more transeasonal (better for Down Under weather)

Donna Karan New York,
spliced red, cream & black skirt,
I drooled over this. It was $2,000 & I remember this price because it was my fave piece in the whole room. The work in the seams and the cut was worth every penny

Donna Karan New York,
off white zip, scuba look jacket.

Philosophy by Alberta Ferretti,
stretch navy/white nautical maxi with lace band inserts.
I didnt check the price, but would imagine in the vicinity of $1,300

Philosophy by Alberta Ferretti,
This is a dress, but Myer had the skirt, possibly with one more tier at the bottom.
I'd imagine this on Nina Proudman of Offspring, although she would probably not approve of paying the price. Once again, too much to absorb, but I'd imagine the skirt price would be around $1,100.

Philosophy by Alberta Ferretti,
halter top, really cute, probably priced at $800

Philosophy by Alberta Ferretti,
Navy cotton broderie long jacket
(The bow was not included)
Probably priced at around $1,800

Moschino Cheap & Chic,
strappy summer frock with border print
probably around $1K

Moschino Cheap & Chic,
too cute, black A line shift with apple sewn on top, classic & fun at the same time.
Notice the photo is shot at a fruit stand...hehehe

Moschino Cheap & Chic,
I tried this black lace over blush pink lining pencil skirt. It was too small. I think the price was $1,200.

The lace was a guipure cotton lace - divine!
They also had little jackets in this lace.

Moschino Cheap & Chic,
trench with flared gores inserted in the princess seams, girlie yet classic.

Vanesssa Bruno,
cream acetate a line vest (also in black)....
approx $600

Vanessa Bruno,
cream blanket style cardi with blanket ends
Very boho, very festival

Vanessa Bruno,
off white applique top &
off white patchwork loose cardi (with silver fabric patches on it)
They may have even had the pants - info overload for me to remember...

Vanessa Bruno,
print loose cardi

Vanessa Bruno,
olive textured synthetic mix dress

Vanessa Bruno,
They had a fes pieces in this paisley type print....soft but boho.

Sonia by Sonia Rykiel,
a stretch knit dress that isnt as short as this photo implies (model = long legs!)

Sonia by Sonia Rykiel,
The skirt is an 100% linen sewn in bands of orange and navy. They had it in a pea-coat that was only $800 & it was divine. They also had it in another piece - a pant (I think). Dont recall the skirt....

Sonia by Sonia Rykiel,
The fabric here is a silk shantung (shantung = with the natural slubs of the silk showing on the surface). Whilst I dont recall this two piece, I do recall the same fabric but in the same varying width stripes of orange & hot pink in a very wide A line sleeveless dress. It was yummy.

Sonia by Sonia Rykiel,
Pretty sure they had a navy wide leg cropped pant - like the sky blue version shown here.

Sonia by Sonia Rykiel,
They had a few colourways of this cotton cardi - a navy/white stripe with white band, a red/white stripe with a navy band....very practical, very cute.

Now for the heavy hitters.....

Roland Mouret -

The dresses here were truly amazing, body con pieces, very Victoria Beckham in fact. Prices varying between $1.8K - $3+K

The following dress they had in various colour combinations, but all with a similar shaped neckline & shaped waist.

This skirt had an amazing texture, like the fabric had been sewn into tiny bubbles. It was about $1,500.

They had a black frock with this neckline, but I dont recall it having a flip skirt - pretty sure the skirt was pencil style. Really nice.

They had a couple of pieces in this aqua in a textured crepe. The photo looks more turquoise....

They had a variation of this aqua top in the textured crepe - it was lovely.

Balmain -

chambray skirt
Love?

The white relaxed shirt with pop studs

Floral very fine silk chiffon blouse....but it looked shorter in the body than the runway version.....

& the man responsible for the Balmain SS 2012 collection, Olivier Rousteing

Givenchy -

Stretch floral print dress

Lala in the dress - MUCH nicer without a belt, yes? (her shoes are Louboutins)

They also had the following black skirt, pencil shaped with curved side splits..possibly $1,200

A black jacket very similar to 2nd row, 3rd column....

& the man responsible for the Givenchy SS 2012 collection..Riccardo Tisci (doing leg stretches or about to run away)....

Did you like the what Myer bought for its Sydney customers?
